Set Up WiFi for a Nintendo DS
The Nintendo DS is a portable gaming device with Wi-Fi capabilities. Using the built-in Wi-Fi, you can connect to other DS's locally or via Nintendo's Wi-Fi Connection. The original Nintendo DS does not have Wi-Fi settings in its DS menu, meaning you must have a Wi-Fi capable game to access the Wi-Fi setup. If you're using a secure network, you will need your wireless network's Wi-Fi password.
Instructions
1. Insert a Wi-Fi compatible game into the Nintendo DS. Refer to the game's manual for information on access the Wi-Fi Connection Settings screen. The Wi-Fi Connection Settings screen is usually found in the "Options" menu of the game you're using (although this can vary). After you have found the Wi-Fi Connection Settings screen, press the "A" button. The A button is used to select items in the Wi-Fi Connection Settings menus.
2. Select "Connection 1." Select "Search for an Access Point."
3. Select the name of your wireless network. If prompted, enter the wireless network password. The Nintendo DS will test your Internet connection. If the test is successful, your Nintendo DS will be connected. If the test is unsuccessful, the reason and most likely solution will be displayed on the DS screen.
