Sew Dog Toys From Old Jeans

It may be a waste of money to purchase expensive dog toys at the pet store. The dog inevitably rips them to shreds. You can now save money by making your own dog toys from old jeans. Follow these steps to learn sew dog toys from those old jeans.


Instructions


1. Sort through your old jeans. Locate the ones that have large areas of material along the legs that haven't been torn. The legs will be used to sew the dog toys.


2. Cut the legs off of the jeans. This will make a tube-shaped dog toy after you sew it. You can cut each leg into two or three sections depending on the size of dog toys you want.


3. Turn the cut pieces inside out and sew one end closed on each. Make sure to use a strong thread because denim material is very strong and so are a dog's teeth. Feel free to double stitch the ends to keep the dog toys in one piece. Turn the pieces right side out.


4. Fill the dog toys with poly fill. This is the same material that is found inside numerous pillows. Add as much or little of the poly fill as you like. The more you add, the more dense the dog toys will be.


5. Sew the open ends of the dog toys closed. This also needs to be done with a very strong thread. The finished products will resemble tube-shaped pillows for your dog to shake around, drag behind him or simply lay on.
