Remove The Pet Urine Smell From The Carpet

Thoroughly remove pet urine odor to prevent future accidents.


Pet owners have to deal with accidents on the carpet. The smell of urine can be intolerable, especially in hot weather. Removing the smell completely is imperative in preventing further accidents. Even if a person can't smell the urine any longer, the pet still can. If a dog or cat can smell the odor on the carpet, it will continue to use the same spot to urinate. To avoid further accidents and the headaches that come along with them, remove the urine odor for good. Does this Spark an idea?


Instructions


1. Stack four to five paper towels and place them on the urine stain. Apply pressure to blot up as much of the urine as possible. Replace the paper towels once they have become saturated with urine. If the urine has dried, pour warm water on the stain and blot well.


2. Mix 1 cup white vinegar with 2 cups warm water in the spray bottle. Spray the area until saturated. Let sit for 30 minutes.


3. Use four to five paper towels to blot the vinegar solution. Replace the paper towels once they have become saturated. Let the area dry and smell the carpet for any traces of urine smell. Remember that even the slightest odor will encourage your pet to use the same spot to urinate.


4. Mix 2 tbsp. baking soda, 2 cups hydrogen peroxide and 1 tsp. dish detergent in a bowl. Pour on the area of the carpet that smells of urine. Let sit for 30 minutes.


5. Wet a cloth in warm water and rinse the baking soda solution. Use to four to five stacked paper towels to blot up as much of the baking soda solution as possible. Replace the paper towels once they have become saturated. Allow the carpet to dry.


6. Apply a pet odor neutralizer to the carpet.
