"The Sims 2: Pets" is an expansion based on "The Sims 2" PC game. It was released on the Nintendo GameCube, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS, Sony PSP and PC. Every port of the game is pretty much identical, so guides or tips will be the same for each version. Editing and creating a family in "The Sims 2: Pets" is one of the most creative processes in a game because it is the first in-depth part of really building your Sims.
Instructions
1. Open the main menu of the game. Use your mouse or game controller to select the small "Family" icon in the bottom corner of the screen.
2. Click on the "Pencil" icon to edit a family member. Select the family member you want to edit.
3. Click on the "Plus" button to add a new family member. Both the "Edit" and "Plus" icons will bring you to the same "Create a Sim" menu.
4. Select either a male or female character and click on the "Confirm" icon.
5. Scroll down through the different "Create a Sim" options. These options include "Body," "Fashion," "Aspiration," "Personality" and "Name." You can edit these attributes in any order.
6. Change body of your Sim. Choose a head shape, select the skin color, and then customize your Sim by selecting different hair styles, body sizes and other attributes that match what you want to create. Click on the "Randomize" button to have the game generate its own Sim.
7. Use the "Fashion" menu to select the outfit for your Sim. There are dozens of styles to choose from and during the game, you can always purchase new clothes or change clothes by buying a dresser for your Sim home.
8. Click on the "Personality" menu and personalize your Sim. You can select a zodiac sign for automatic personality selections based off the sign or customize your own by moving the slider for different things like "Creativity," "Playfulness" and "Happiness."
9. Use the "Aspiration" menu to set a goal for your Sim character. You can choose from "Family," "Wealth," "Creativity," "Knowledge" and "Popularity."
10. Give your Sim a first name. The Sim will automatically receive the last name given to your Sim family.
11. Repeat Steps 3 through 10 to add or edit more Sims to your family. If you want add a pet to your family, click on the "Plus" icon and select from a cat or dog. The menu options are the same for your pet, but with canine or feline features.
