It's a dog's life, especially if you don't have the right costume to dress up for Halloween or a fancy dress party. It's easy to make the perfect dog costume. Just follow these steps.
Instructions
1. Buy a hooded sweatshirt to make the head and body of the dog costume. These can be bought cheaply from many thrift shops. Turn the sweatshirt inside out to create the illusion of fur.
2. Sew a sock on either side of the hood to create the dog's ears. These will be long and floppy, like the ears on a basset hound.
3. Attach an old stocking to the bottom of the sweatshirt. This will form the tail for your dog costume. Make the tail as long or as short as you want.
4. Get a pair of track pants for the rest of the dog costume. Put the sweatshirt and track pants on. Your Halloween dog costume has started to take shape.
5. Use eyeliner to darken your nose and add whiskers. Keep your hand steady while you draw.
6. Borrow your dog's collar and leash and put these on - he won't mind. This will give your costume an authentic flavor for Halloween or a party.
7. Cut out some felt pieces to serve as pads for the dog's paws. Add these to two more pairs of socks and slip them onto your hands and feet. Your dog costume is complete.
