Enjoy the natural scenes of New Jersey by staying overnight at a state park.
Four New Jersey State Parks offer some form of lodging, which includes yurts, cabins and shelters. Limited in number, these facilities provide a camp-like experience in natural settings for non-campers. You can make a reservation up to 11 months in advance if you stay a minimum of two nights.
Yurts, Cabins and Shelters in the Park System
Yurts are dome-shaped tents on wooden decks or concrete pads. They feature a skylight, lockable wood door, screened windows and two bunk beds to accommodate four sleepers. The windows are closed with flaps. Yurts are handicap accessible. Cabins have several rooms including a furnished living room, a kitchen and a bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. Kitchens have hot and cold running water, a refrigerator and electric stove. The number of bedrooms varies from park to park as do other amenities like fireplaces or wood stoves. Inquire about handicap accessibility. Shelters are similar to cabins but contain a single combination living room-bedroom but no kitchen or bathroom. They feature two bunk beds for up to four sleepers and a wood stove for heat. There is a picnic table and fire ring at each site. Bring chairs for sitting inside or outside. The park system does not operate any lodges.

Allaire is home to over 200 species of wildflowers. Mountain bike, hike or horseback ride on the trail system. Tour the historic iron-making village or ride on the steam powered narrow gauge Pine Creek Railroad, both attractions inside the park.
