Purcell, Oklahoma is a great place to stay just outside Oklahoma City.
Purcell, Oklahoma is one of the outer suburbs of Oklahoma City. It is located in central Oklahoma and, as of January 2011, it is home to about 6,700 residents. Because of its small size, options for travel accommodations in the city of Purcell are limited. In fact, Purcell has only three hotels in the city limits, but offers a few more options if you expand your accommodation horizons beyond motels.
Econolodge
Purcell's only chain motel is the Econolodge. This 32-room motel is centrally located in Purcell, just 18 miles from the University of Oklahoma and close to Purcell Lake and other attractions in the city. The motel is pet-friendly and offers free continental breakfast to guests, as well as AAA discounts, free local calls and free wireless Internet. There is also a restaurant on-site.
Executive Inn
The Executive Inn is another pet-friendly motel. It has 28 units, each equipped with a mini fridge, coffee machine, flat-screen TV, iron with ironing board, hair dryer and king-size bed. Like the Econolodge, the Executive Inn is pet-friendly and offers AAA discounts as well as seniors discounts, though it does not have a restaurant on the premises or free Wi-Fi in guest rooms.
Ruby's Inn and Restaurant
Just up the road from the Executive Inn is Ruby's Inn and Restaurant. The inn has 81 rooms while the restaurant has a seating capacity of 102. Ruby's Inn is the only Purcell motel with a swimming pool, but it is not pet-friendly. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and is open daily from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The inn does not offer free breakfast or Internet in the rooms.
J Marie's Bed and Breakfast
For a more home-like stay in Purcell, consider J Marie's Bed and Breakfast. This bed and breakfast is run by the husband and wife team of Janet and Rudy Renteria and is centrally located in historic downtown Purcell. The Renterias provide guests with the comforts of home, including breakfast, and their downtown location is easily accessible and in close proximity of other restaurants and attractions.
RV and Campgrounds
In addition to its motels, Purcell has four main RV camping sites. Chandler Park, offers RV parking, boat docks and a pool. Nearby Purcell RV Park offers 22 campsites, a pool, showers, and an on-site golf course. Purcell Lake camping area also offers RV campsites and boat docks as well as picnic areas, a playground, indoor recreation room and outdoor grills. Picnic RV Park boasts an on-site store for food and fuel, picnic areas and a nature walk.
