Government Grants For Equine Rescue Services

Sick or hurt horses require extra care.

Rescuing horses can be very gratifying, but it can also be very challenging, especially financially. The costs of rehabilitating horses can skyrocket before you know it, and getting help with defraying these costs can be like finding a needle in a haystack. Knowing where to look can help a person who assists in equine rescue.

ASPCA

The American Society for the Protection of Companion Animals is one of the major sources of funding for many rescues across the country, equines as well as others. Qualified nonprofits can send in their applications per instructions given on their website, and receive grants up to 10 percent of the operating budget of the rescue.

Equine Rescue Resources

There is a list of organizations, trusts, charities, and government grants that will assist in the rescue and rehabilitation of distressed equines. The list can be separated into states, or can be general and national. The idea is to present your case to as many of the listed potential donors as possible. Qualifications and requirements vary, so check into the specifics of the grants.
