Symptoms

Signs of Shih Tzu allergies include vomiting, diarrhea, skin rash, scratching, paw licking and coughing. Symptoms vary depending on the type of allergy.

Diagnosis

A licensed veterinarian can diagnose Shih Tzu allergies through a review of the dog's history or by blood tests, according to Official Shih Tzu Guide.

Treatment

Depending on the cause of the allergy, treatment can include food changes, antibiotics, switching shampoo and a flea preventative. It can take several months for the Shih Tzu's health to improve.

Warning
