Dallas has a number of events and activities for children.
Dallas is known for being a commercial and financial hub, as well as for its clubs, live music and sports teams. But the city offers several family-friendly attractions as well. The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is home to Six Flags Over Texas, Hurricane Harbor, lakes, parks and several children's theaters. Dallas holds several annual events specially designed for children, and families can also find regular children's programs through other area attractions.
First Tuesday at the Dallas Museum of Art
The Dallas Museum of Art holds several regular programs and special events for children and their families. On the first Tuesday of every month, admission to the museum is free for children ages 5 and under and their accompanying family members. During First Tuesdays, the museum offers kids' activities like arts and crafts, songs, performances, online games, and story times. The museum also holds summer art camps for kids and has a Kids Club program, which offers discounted rates to not only the museum but the Dallas Zoo, the Dallas Arboretum, the Trinity River Audubon Center, and the Museum of Nature and Science.
