Find Ghosts In Minnesota

Calvary Cemetery Image from Minnesota Paranormal Investigators website

Some might find the winters in Minnesota the most frightening thing about the state, but perhaps the really scary stuff dwells in the paranormal. Murder and mayhem have affected this state of 10,000 lakes as much as any other and ghost hunters will have no trouble finding spirits to communicate with. Get your parka and fishing rods ready and let's go.

Instructions

1. The Midwest is filled with Indian tribes and tales and Thief River Falls is an intriguing location for ghost hunters. Dead Man's Trail is an old Indian trail that has twisty paths and hidden caves, which may be enough to frighten hardy hikers, but the apparition of Native Americans here on the trail, the unexplained sounds and missing hikers should bring in paranormal enthusiasts from miles around. Bring your mosquito repellent and thermal cameras to make finding the shadow people that much easier.

2. Head to the city to find a different type of haunting. Minneapolis City Hall experiences the ghost of a man who was hung there, so go to the fifth floor and do some EVP work to see if you can make a connection. Talk to workers there to get their personal stories.

3. Ready to go back to college? Go to St. Olaf College in Northfield for a number of supernatural opportunities. Hillebole Hall's third floor is said to have children's handprints mysteriously appear on the windows and the ghost of Mrs. Kelsey appears in the Kelsey Theater playing the piano. The oldest building on campus, Melby Hall, is home to Victorian-age apparitions and unearthly noises.

4. The Minnesota Ghost Hunting Society has their work cut out for them. They investigate a plethora of private homes, but have also founds evidence of ghostly haunting at the Holy Name cemetery in Plymouth and Mounds Theater in St. Paul. Check out their website and try to join them for an investigation.

5. Final stop, Stillwater, Minnesota. This cute artsy tourist town seems pleasant enough in the daytime, but check out Arcola Trail Bridge at night. If you are lucky, you may catch the apparition of a woman in white carrying a latern. It is said that she is looking for her husband along the railroad tracks. Bring your camera.
