Get Married In Isle Of Palms South Carolina

Isle of Palms, South Carolina, is a barrier island on the Atlantic Coast, 10 miles north of Charleston. With salt marshes, wildlife and seven miles of white sandy beaches, residents of Charleston have used the island as a playground for more than a century. The island has several venues appropriate for weddings.

Citadel Beach House

Citadel Beach House, a two-story structure overlooking the Atlantic, is a prime location for wedding ceremonies and receptions on or near the beach. The five-acre complex has several venues for weddings, including a large ballroom, porches at the front and rear of the building, a large screened porch, a lawn and a covered picnic area for more informal events. The ballroom can accommodate up to 150 guests for sit-down dinners, while the outdoor area can seat up to 300. Citadel Beach House does not have a staff or catering facilities, although it does have a serving kitchen.

Wild Dunes Resort

Wild Dunes Resort is a full-service wedding facility. Couples have a choice of several outdoor and indoor venues. Grand Pavilion is an alfresco oceanfront facility that can accommodate up to 600 guests. Couples may also want to hold their ceremony or reception on one of two croquet lawns, which are surrounded by lush landscaping just steps from the beach. For indoor events, Wild Dunes has its Sweetgrass Pavilion, which can host groups of up to 350. Wild Dunes has on-site caterers, event planners and floral designers.

Seaside Inn

The Seaside Inn is a good choice for a budget destination wedding on Isle of Palms. The oceanfront property caters to small beach weddings, where couples and guests can enjoy the benefits of staying on the ocean and the attractions of Charleston. The property, located adjacent to waterfront seafood restaurants, features a rooftop pool with two sun decks. Rooms are decorated in tropical style and feature microwave ovens, refrigerators, high-speed wireless Internet access and cable television. Couples and their guests will want to explore nearby Ft. Moultrie and the South Carolina Aquarium.

The Palms Hotel

The Palms Hotel is an AAA Three Diamond property. Have your ceremony in the gardens facing the Atlantic, then hit the beach for swimming, windsurfing, parasailing and kayaking. The hotel is 15 minutes from the historic sites and shopping of downtown Charleston, as well as minutes from Mt. Pleasant and Sullivan Island. Amenities include a rooftop pool and sundeck, ocean view rooms with refrigerators, microwave ovens, premium cable television and high-speed wireless Internet access.
