Save Animals From Euthanasia

Overpopulation is one of the main causes of euthanasia.

Many healthy, happy animals are euthanized every year. According to the Humane Society of the United States, four million cats and dogs, about one every eight seconds, are put down in U.S. shelters each year. Learning save animals from euthanasia is a must if you want to reduce the heartache and deaths of millions of animals.

Instructions

1. Spay or neuter your pet. Overpopulation is one of the main reasons animals are euthanized. The Humane Society of the United States reports that spaying and neutering is the only permanent, 100 percent effective method of birth control for animals.

2. Foster or adopt animals from the humane society. The majority of animals that end up in shelters, especially sickly animals, are euthanized if not adopted in a given amount of time.

3. Donate money to an animal charity. Animal rights organizations, such as the Humane Society of the United States, help reduce animal euthanasia. Support an animal-rights group by donating money through the advocate's website or via mail.

4. Volunteer at your humane society. Volunteering allows you to become more involved with saving animals from euthanasia and lifts the animals' spirits.
