Create a PDF Fill-in Form
Fill-in forms embedded in a PDF allow users to type in, save or print any customized text using the popular Adobe Acrobat software. Fillable PDF forms are especially convenient for preparation of various applications, including tax and other government forms.
Instructions
1. Open Adobe Acrobat software. Click "File," then "Open" to browse your computer and open a PDF.
2. Click "Tools," then "Advanced Editing." Select the "Text Field Tool."
3. While holding the left mouse button, draw a rectangle in the approximate place where the text of the form should to be inserted. Release the button. The "Text Field Properties" window will appear.
4. Select the "Appearance" tab in "Text Field Properties," and click on the box that is right next to "Border Color." Select a color that should appear around the box (usually black). You can also select other options in this menu to change the appearance and other attributes of your text or the text box.
5. Click "Close" on the bottom of the window to close "Text Field Properties."
6. Click the "Hand Tool" usually located on the Adobe Acrobat toolbar, or click "Menu Tools," followed by "Basic," then "Hand Tool."
7. Click on the created text field and type any text inside.
8. Put the mouse cursor inside the text field box and, while pressing the left mouse button, move the text field to a desired position.
9. Place the mouse cursor exactly on the text field border. Eight small boxes should appear on the field border. Grab one of the boxes by holding the left mouse button to resize the text field.
10. Double-click on the text field to bring up the "Text Field Properties" window to change the border or fill colors, and other options.
11. Repeat Steps 3 through 10 for each text box you need to create.
